Thanks to the iconoclast Gerald Genta who had this genius stroke of pen in early 70s Audemars Piguet got its icon and most innovative watch design ever made which became and still is its best-seller.
The most expensive steel diving watch at the time (more than 3x a Submariner!) and certainly very far from the fashionable criterias at the time.
Only 2000 pieces of the A series were produced. Imagine how many are still remaining in great condition given how thin the case is!
Serial: N• A15xx from 1972
Dial & case: As close as mint as you can. The current piece timeXchange is offering has a flawless original and NON OXYDIZED tapisserie dial with SWISS only at 6 o´clock (not replacement dial SWISS MADE or replacement blue dial SWISS). Its case is extremelly thick and it has sharp edges. Distance and symetry from the holes to the hedge indicates how not polished it is. Original crown with no brand logo. Size = 39mm.
Bracelet: original with condition being so good that the watch stands up as when it was brand new. It also features the double attachment link and the last three digit of the case are engraved.
Movement: AP 2121 caliber
Box & papers: comes with its original green leather box and an extract from the register.
