AP produced in 1978 the ultra thin perpetual calendar caliber 2120/2800 and launched the reference 5548. The brand switched all its reference names by adding a « 2 » as prefix in 1984. The present watch belongs to a reference that was produced 5 years after and from 1982 to 1993: the 25657. Only 1821 pieces were made in all metal combined (1309 in yellow gold. 362 in pink gold, 128 in platinum, 16 in white gold, 5 two-toned and 1 steel). The presented timepiece was purchased in January 1988.
Dial: immaculate white enamel dial with MK1 lettering. Original yellow gold « needle hands » for hours/minutes and blued small hands for subregisters.
Case: Very thick retaining it original dimension and showing minor (if any) polishing history. The AP leather bracelet and clasp are original ones.
Serial: C3XXXX-XXXXX-N°XXX from Jan-1988.
Movement: AP caliber 2120/2800 aka the thinnest self-winding movement in the world until 2019 when the new AP perpetual calendar was released.
Box & papers: AP beige leather box & cover cover, certificat of origine & guarantee dated Jan1988, tag, fresh certificate of register.
