AUDEMARS PIGUET

Royal Oak Day-Date Moon Phases

ref. 25594st

Thanks to the iconoclast Gerald Genta who had this genius stroke of pen in early 70s Audemars Piguet got its icon and most innovative watch design ever made which became and still is its best-seller: the Royal Oak. In 1983 the brand developed a Day-Date version ref. 25572 (aka. « the owl ») which AP later improved by adding Moon phases: the ref.25594.

Dial & case: The timepiece timeXchange is offering here is a reference 25594st (st = steel). Its immaculate cream dial is a first version one (MK1) with small letters and thin long index with no luminous material. This was made until roughly number 400. Original hands for hours & minutes also without tritium and original non luminous blued hands for subdials. The 36mm case is in remarquable condition showing a very limited (if any at all) polishing history.
