AUDEMARS PIGUET

Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar

Full Set

Ref. 25654st

The perpetual calendar of AP was developped in 1981. It was put in a Royal Oak case in 1984 with the ref. 5554 which quickly switched its reference name for 25554. The present watch belongs to the successor reference : the 25654 which shares the same aesthetic. This beauty is proposing for many the best of both worlds: a true complication encased in a design masterpiece 39mm sports watch. Production years ranged from 1982 until 1993 but this reference was offered for sales for a longer period between 1983 until 1998. Out of a total production of 800 pieces in all metal combined, only 272 were made in steel. 422 in yellow gold, 72 two-toned, 33 platinum and 1 white gold.

Dial: exceptionally rare. Smooth black/dark anthracite dial with no tapisserie and MK2 letterings. Original « needle hands » for hours/minutes and steel small hands for subregisters.

Case: Likely never polished the 9.3mm thick case has certainly retained all that impressive thickness! Stunning. Original crown without the AP logo.

Serial: D27XXX-XXXXX-N°901 from May-1994.

Movement: AP caliber 2120/2800 aka the thinnest self-winding movement in the world until 2019 when the new AP perpetual calendar was released.

Box & papers: AP huge winding box & cover box, certificate of origin and of guarantee dated from May1994 and perpetual calendar « direction of use » booklet.

A VERY highly collectible timepiece rarely seen with black dial and original papers and set but above all in exceptional condition.
