And the quartz finally made it to the Royal Oak in 1980, 8 years after the launch of the 5402st! To mark this milestone the brand wanted to introduce a new design: the rectangular yet Royal Oak shape. This feat was possible by extending the bracelet and morphing the octogonal Royal Oak into a smooth rectangle with rounded angles and bevelled edges along different textures of polish. As a result the watch is extremely elegant, thin and a true « glove on the wrist ». Production from 1980 to 1985.

Dial & case: Original (very) small tapisserie 25 lines dial with SWISS only at 6 o´clock. MK1 Audemars Piguet lettering matching the pre-1993 period style. No luminous material, needle hands and thin steel index. Original crown with no AP logo. The case is like new with satin brushed polish and a few contrasting shiny parts. Size = 26mm x 36mm. It will please both gentlemen & ladies’ wrist.
Bracelet: mint condition with strong stand up, tight original with engraved AP on the clasp.
Movement: AP 2508 caliber, movement H1xxx
Box & papers: comes with AP service box, quartz movement instruction for use and service paper from June 2020.
