In watchmaking some achievements are elevated to the rank of historical milestone and François-Paul Journe is often associated to them. The current timepiece is simply the most sophisticated and sought after luxury quartz watch. Journe put together his exceptional inventiveness, build and design standards to come up with a high-precision electromechanical movement, designed especially for this watch. Faithful to the « Inventit et Fecit » the brand’s slogan. This movement allows the watch to enjoy a very long autonomy running daily for 8 to 10 years without needing a battery change. The watch also has an automatic sleep function, which saves the battery by reducing power consumption when the watch is not worn extending the automomy to 18 years! When the watch is put back on, it automatically reactivates and displays the correct time. Poets would say this is a watch with a beating heart!
Case: featuring a sleek, elegant design with a flat turtle-shaped case with a 48x40mm diameter lugs to lugs, providing a unique and sporty look. Thickness: 7.95mm. While available in a variety of materials, the proposed « Elegant » is made of rarest and most desirable: the Titalyt, a lightweight and durable composite material exclusive to the brand combining aluminum and titanium. The watch contrasting white dial is fully luminescent and covered with a sapphire crystal, which ensures high scratch resistance and optimal readability. The hour markers are marked with arabic numerals and the window at 4 o’clock exhibits a motion sensor allowing to shut down the (beautiful) blued hands after 35 minutes of inactivity.
Movement: 1210 with « côtes de Geneve » decorated pink gold coating. Journe simply re-invented the luxury quartz watch with two motors: one for seconds and one for minutes+hours. This contributes to save energy as frictions are avoided. While the watch is « asleep » a microprocessor keeps track of the time allowing the hands to move back to the time correct position when « waking up » using the shortest route for each hands.
