PATEK PHILIPPE Aquanaut « Jumbo » 5065J with patina tritium index

The reference 5065J (J = « Jaune » meaning « Yellow » for yellow gold) is the original « Jumbo » Aquanaut of 38mm diameter produced from 1997 to end of 2006. The presented timepiece was manufactured in 1999 and sold in 2000. It comes with its original box, coverbox, burgundy leather portfolio including leaflets and its extract from the archives.

Serial / movement: 3,01x,xxx/4.08x.xxx (1999).

Dial: MK1 generation raised guilloché motif mirroring the pattern & texture of its rubber strap and applied Arabic numerals. The tritium of the index have caught a yellow patina especially sought after by collectors. The hands although featuring a lighter color are reacting similarly to the index indicating they are also tritium with a slightly different mix. The hand for second is also typical of MK1 dial with a thin tail.

Case: very thick with the satin-brushed finished.

Movement: 315SC caliber with the Geneva Seal engraved.

Bracelets: featured with a black rubber strap and a stunning original Patek brick red composite strap.

Papers & box: original cover box, box (another flaking one!), burgundy portfolio with booklets and extract from the archives.

Superb example of the (uber hype) Jumbo Aquanaut carrying a huge sympathetic capital and getting rarer by the day in pristine condition especially in yellow gold.
