Heir of the magnificent line of Patek Chronograph Perpetual Calendar the 3970 succeeds to the famous 2499. In order to conjure the fate of the 80s, when quartz was shacking the established horological codes, Patek decides to impose a traditional come back to the « noble » 36mm size. They produced the 3970 during 18 years (1986-2004) in 4 different metals and knew 4 different series. The presented watch is one of the latest ones (June 2003) and features a magnificent and original black dial encased in white gold. This is one of the most sought after configuration for this reference.
