The word « rare » is often galvauded in the world of vintage but this one is an understatement. This watch is not only the transitional Big Red Sigma but subdials are … brown!
Serial: 5.5xx.xxx (1978) as often with the Big Red Sigma along with the other accepted serial range 3.9m-4.2m (end 1975-early1976).
Dial: flawless silver sundial. All tritium plots are in place. 2h, 3h, 8h & 9h lost some luminous material but are perfectly glowing/vanishing under UV light. Hands seem original as they match the index colour.
Case: very little polished retaining all original proportions.
Pushers: MK1 (the correct ones for the period)
Mouvement: Valjoux 727
Bracelet: oyster bracelet 78350/19, 557 end links. Clasp from nov1988 (M11).
Box & Papers: Rolex box and cover box, no paper.
