The iconic and sublim design « Big Red » full set. Rolex’s best seller timepiece. The current piece is of an outstanding quality. It was very likely among the very first batch of plain « Big Red » released (the 3.9-4.2m serial range was also a period where Rolex eliminated their old sigma dial as they transitioned into the « Big Red »).
Serial: 3,98x,xxx (1976)
Dial: hypnotic flawless sundial. Certainly among the best we saw. Floating red Daytona (positionned with a significant space above the lower subdial) All lume plots P E R F E C T. All tritium glow nicely.
Case: very VERY sharp & thick with satin finish still all over. Close from NOS condition. Caseback 6265.
