
ROLEX 6263 Paul Newman « Panda » MK1.0
One if not THE most desired Rolex in the world.
Here in the rarest dial version, the very first generation with thin font and large R aka « Panda 1.0 »
Serial : 2.085.xxx (1969)
Dial : an absolutely immaculate cream dial with super clean sub-dials. Cream is indeed quite specific to the aging of the MK1.0 dial version. All tritium dots are present and have aged beautifully. They are perfectly glowing/vanishing under UV light.
Case : Sharp case retaining its original proportions with only minor polishing history.
Pushers : original and famous « Millerighe » pushers (meaning « thousand lines » in italian). Some of the brass is apparent under the surface nickel layer.
Movement : Valjoux 727 / Backcase : 6238/6239 as Rolex was using available and contemporary references back case especially for the earlier versions of 6263.
Bracelet : folder bracelet 7835 with 271 end links and clasp of « 1 70 ».
