ROLEX GMT-Master Exclamation point Chapter Ring glossy dial ref.1675

Let’s put it simply: try to find a better one!

Serial: 69x.xxx (1961).

Dial: Glossy chapter ring dial with the famous exclamation point at 6 o’clock. This indicates Rolex had reduced the intensity of radium used on the luminous material on the dial (index and hands) in order to comply with the evolution of the regulation in the early 1960s. It typically appears on 1961/62 Rolex dials. It will be followed by the underline in 1963/64 showing a more significant drop in radiation thanks to the use of tritium. The present dial is certainly one of the best we ever came across with a superb gloss with no flaws. The hands no longer react to UV test indicating they have been replaced.

Case: this great case has the pointed crown guards and retains exact initial proportions with equidistant steel between the holes of the lugs and the edge. Not sign of major polishing. Caseback: original with II.61 engraved (Q2 1961 matching the serial). 6238 CRS (Charles-René Spielmann, friend of Rolex’s founder Hans Wildorf).

Movement: microstella 1560 « superlative chronometer officially certified »

Bracelet: most likely original elastic riveted Rolex bracelet with 80 end links and a matching clasp from «4 61».
