For the most delicate of us this timepiece is a rare variant of the Rolex DNA thanks to its stylised lugs nicknamed « horn » of « grasshopper » by collectors. It reminds the style of some Vacheron Constantin and quite easily belongs to the « dressed watch » category. Produced between 1940 and 1949 the present timepiece is from circa 1945/46.
Case number: 429979 / 538 (1945/46)
Dial: the absence of luminous material contributed to preserve the honeycomb-textured dial in an absolute outstanding condition. The applied index, coronet and leaf hands show some slight oxydation and contribute to warm up the whole dial with a rich vintage look.
Case: very crisp case especially for a timepiece of such an age. The 34mm of the diameter has to be put into the perspective of the oversize of the lugs contributing to a rather 36mm eye impact than anything else. The Rolex hallmark and serial number are also deep illustrating the state of preservation of the watch.
Bracelet: later added leather bracelet.
