ROLEX PreDaytona 6238 MK1 «Silver Grey Sundial»
One of the approx. 3.600 produced from 1961 to 1968 here in a beautifully preserved light grey version. This reference is highly undervalued. It possesses all the design premices of Rolex’s best seller the Daytona expressed here in a more subtle way. It is truly rare to find one in such a good condition.
Serial: 1.0xx.xxx (1964).
Dial: MK1 light grey dial is PERFECT like NEW condition. From the tritium dots to the hands everything is simply stunning.
Case: case & lugs are still very thick which is quite unusual for this reference very often too polished. Caseback: 6238. Diameter 36mm. Thickness 13.4 with crystal. In between lugs 19mm.
Pushers: pump
Movement: Valjoux 72B with ROW engraved on the bridge (US import mark).
Bracelet: oyster bracelet ref.7205 matching the original band with a 4 66 clasp which is 2.5-3 years older than the serial. 61 end links. 12 riveted links total.
Box & Papers: Rolex presentation box from the 60s. No papers.
