Sea-Dweller ref. 1665 Tiffany&Co

Diver’s dream came true in 1967 with the introduction of the first watch designed for saturation diving (where bloodstream is saturated with helium or other suitable gas at the pressure of the surrounding water, so that the decompression time afterwards is independent of the duration of the dive): the Sea-Dweller. It extended the depth capacity of the Submariner from 200 meters to 610 meters and avoided the crystal to pop in the decompression chamber! It was equipped with an Helium Escape Valve (HEV) a breveted technology invented in collaboration with the Compagnie Maritime d’Expertise (COMEX). Produced from 1967 until 1983, the presented timepiece is one of the very last one made of « The Great White » series. What makes it even more remarkable is the double signature Tiffany&Co (dial confirmed by the service papers realised in Rolex Geneva). Less than 10 ref.1665 Sea-Dweller double signed Tiffany&Co are know to the market.

Case number: 8.04x.xxx from 1983.

Dial: immaculate dial from « the Great White » era which is the fourth and last generation before Rolex switched to the 16660 (« triple six ») reference. The original index and hands are in perfect conditions.

Box and papers: it comes with a Rolex Geneva service card, Rolex service papers, authorised dealer Juwelier Mayer service paper, box, cover box, service booklet and tag.
