Royal Oak Day-Date Moon Phases Black/Navy Blue Dial

Thanks to the iconoclast Gerald Genta who had this genius stroke of pen in early 70s Audemars Piguet got its icon and most innovative watch design ever made which became and still is its best-seller: the Royal Oak. In 1983 the brand developed a Day-Date version ref. 25572 which AP improved in 1985 by adding Moon phases: the ref.25594.
Dial & case: The timepiece timeXchange is offering here is an extremelly rare version of the reference 25594st (st = steel) with an original « navy blue dial » according to AP wording classification. It feels more like black! The small lettering and thin long index are the features of the first generation (MK1) with luminous material. This was made from roughly number 400 up to 1200. Original hands for hours & minutes also with tritium and original non luminous blued hands for subdials. The 36mm case is in remarquable condition showing a very limited polishing history.

Movement: automatic, caliber AP 2224/2825 in exceptional condition.
Bracelet: excellent condition and still standing up.
Box & papers: original box, original guarantee and extract from register.
