Thanks to the iconoclast Gerald Genta who had this genius stroke of pen in early 70s Audemars Piguet got its icon and most innovative watch design ever made which became and still is its best-seller. In 1981 the brand developped the perpetual calendar and cased it in a Royal Oak in 1984 with the 5554 shortly becoming 25554.
The timepiece timeXchange is offering here is a reference 25820st belonging to the second version of the Royal Oak perpetual calendar as it offers the « leap year » complication in the top subregister at 12 o’clock.
Serial: N•1xxx E3XXXX sold in 2004 in Italy.
Dial & case: this timepiece presents an extremelly rare blue mother of pearl (aka MOP) dial with black graphics. Original « needle » white gold hands for hours & minutes and original blue hands for subdials. The 39mm case is untouched with equidistant space between the holes and the edge of the case.
