PATEK PHILIPPE

Calatrava

Ref. 570

The reference 570 was introduced in 1938 and is the 2nd ever produced Calatrava. It essentially corrected the initial Calatrava (reference 96) main negative feedback from Patek’s clients: its 31 mm diameter. The 570 features a 35.5mm diameter, sweeping central seconds and dauphine hands (elongated lozenge shape) signing THE classic configuration of the Calatrava model in collector’s heart. It was produced in platinum, in yellow, white, pink gold and a few in stainless steel.

Typical Bauhaus design inspiration obeying to the rule that form should follow function. The 570 features a very pure and minimalist case and dial design with hand-made decagonal surfaced hour markers and white gold minute pearls.

Case: extremely sharp and thick white gold case. Look at these lugs and the distance between the holes and the edges! Diameter: 35.5mm

Dial: untouched and close to perfect dial as opposed to many 570 which have cleaned dials. This allowed to preserve a lively dial presence instead of commonly seen whitish matte dials typical of cleaning process. Excellent condition of the Dauphine hands and hands for seconds.

Movement: manual, caliber 27-AM 400

Vintage charm and historical significant are meeting here the elegance and appeal of condition.
