PATEK PHILIPPE Nautilus

MK1 « Tiffany & Co »

ref. 3800/1A

For the most delicate of us this 37.5mm timepiece is the alternative to its « Jumbo » sister the Nautilus ref.3700 (41mm). It was produced in steel, steel & gold, yellow gold, white gold and even platinum. The rarest of all metal was rose gold. Among steel the double signed ones are the rarest especially if the retailer is the american Tiffany & Co. The present timepiece configuration is one of those rare birds. Simply gorgeous.

Movement/serial: 1.4xx.xxx/2.8xx.000

Dial: Fabulous deep and bright blue respecting the specifications Mr. Stern imposed to Mr Genta: « the true color of the ocean ». Sigma SWISS Sigma at 6 o’clock and the rarest MK1 dial version with accent on GENÈVE. The black date disc is typical of the first generation of 3800 made and the sherif font is here again the most sought after one. The original hands and index are filled with patinated tritium and react perfectly to the UV test (green reaction quickly vanishing after exposure).

Case: very nice case with a likely very minor polishing history. The sharp 3D calatrava cross on the clasp speaks for itself.

Bracelet: the bracelet is tight and it proudly stands-up. 20 links. Nautilus clasp of second generation matching the date wheel.

Box & papers: A fresh extract of the archives, Patek Philippe wood box and Tiffany & Co presentation box and typical Tiffany & Co blue felt bag.
