ROLEX PreDaytona « Black Knight » galvanic black dial ref. 6238

One of the approx. 3.600 produced from 1961 to 1968 here in one of its rarest version: the black dial of first generation nicknamed « The Black Knight ».  It is said that only about 100 black dials were made. The PreDaytona possesses all the design premices of Rolex’s best seller the Daytona expressed here in a more subtle way. Maybe this is why even James Bond wore one of them in « On Her Majesty’s Secret Service ». It is always a real pleasure to find one of these in such a good condition.
