PATEK PHILIPPE original « Nautilus Aquanaut » 5060A full set
The original reference 5060A is the very first Aquanaut designed to open the prestigious manufacturer to a younger audience back in 1997. Although it was featuring a classic size for the brand with 36.5mm diameter, everything else was quite daring starting from the alliance of steel & rubber serving a 3D grenade style dial. The watch is really a morphing of the Nautilus model pushed further into the sporty look. It was actually launched as the « Nautilus Aquanaut » at the time. Only 1000 pieces were made in all metal due to the limited availability of the movement 330SC. The presented timepiece is one of these.
Serial / movement: 3,02x,xxx/4.02x.xxx (1997).
Dial: raised guilloché motif mirroring the pattern & texture of its rubber strap and applied Arabic numerals. The tritium of the index have caught a patina especially sought after by collectors. The hands have another luminous mix than the index as they retain a powerful green glow typical of luminova.
Case: extremely thick and as new condition with the satin-brushed finished.
Bracelets: featured with its original black rubber strap.
Papers & box: original guarantee, cover box, box (another flaking one…what a shame Patek used this supplier), booklets and tag.
A marvelous original Aquanaut that should belong to any curated watch collection.
