ROLEX PreDaytona « Solid Logo Dagger indexes » dial ref.6234
One of the approx. 2.250 PreDaytona produced from 1955 to 1963 here in a breathtakingly preserved and seldom seen « dagger indexes dial » version. This variant is rare especially in good condition. It sits at the crossroad of the old Rolex style with the so called « solid logo » for the raised relief Rolex and yet it already features the design premices of Rolex’s best seller: the Daytona.
Serial: 53x.xxx (1959).
Dial: Flawless mate white dial with dagger indexes. The luminous material is tritium and not radium despite the SWISS at 6 o’clock suggesting it was changed during a service long ago. Whatever the explanation it is a stunning set.
Case: case & lugs are extremelly thick which is remarkable for this reference. Caseback: 6234. Diameter 36mm. Thickness 13.4 with crystal. In between lugs 19mm.

Bracelet: oyster straight end bracelet with a very rarely seen « big logo » clasp dated from 1959 and matching the serial and is very likely original to the watch. 12 riveted links total.
