Iconic and sublim design, the « Big Red » generation of the Daytona certainly helped building the legend of ROLEX as a brand. It is one of its best seller and an analogy with the sports cars universe would say it is the 911 of the wrist! The « Big Red » is the third dial generation of this reference and came after the « Sigma » dial. It was produced from 1975 until 1987.
Serial: 8.60x.xxx (1984)
Dial: Flawless black dial with creamy subregisters providing an instant vintage look to the timepiece. All the tritium dots react under the UV test. The hands have been serviced.
Case: very nice case retaining thick lugs and original shapes and proportions. The extra MK3 acrylic bezel provides a 6263 look to the timepiece. The watch is sold with acrylic & steel bezels.
Pushers: MK2 (with circular line) matching the serial period
Mouvement: Valjoux 727.
Bracelet: Rolex oyster bracelet 78350/19 with 571 end links. « S U9 » clasp.
Box & Papers: Rolex presentation box with missing pouch and cover box.
